Valeria Izzi

Valeria Izzi joined Elrha in February 2023. As our Senior MEAL Adviser, she leads on Elrha’s work in measuring the impact of our work in Research and Innovation, ensuring that our MEAL systems and processes are fit for purpose to generate evidence and learning for the humanitarian ecosystem. Prior to joining Elrha, Valeria spent a few years as a research and evaluation consultant. She has been part of several evaluations of Research for Development programmes funded through the UK Official Development Assistance (ODA), including the final evaluation of the Global Challenges Research Fund. Throughout her career, she has worked in international development with UN agencies, NGOs and academia, with a focus on post-conflict peacebuilding and development effectiveness in fragile and post-conflict contexts. Valeria is passionate about the role that MEAL can play to investigate power dynamics in Research and Innovation, and to support more equitable, fair and inclusive processes of evidence generation.
