East Central and Southern Africa Regional Gender in Emergency Technical Advisor at Care USA

Everjoy is a feminist and a seasoned Gender and Gender Based Violence practitioner. She has got over 15 years of experience working in the Gender and Development Sector, providing support to both Government and non-government institutions on Gender Mainstreaming, and in the last four years working in the humanitarian sector. She is currently employed by CARE International as the Regional Gender in Emergence Technical Advisor. She provides technical support to 15 country offices in East Central Africa and Southern Africa, on gender and protection programming, facilitating cross learning and scaling up best practices. Apart from the 15 Country Offices, Everjoy is a member of the Gender Cohort, a technical pool for CARE that can be called upon to provide technical support globally. Everjoy is also deployed during onset of type 3 and type 4 emergencies to help assist in the setting up of gender responsive systems, supporting the initial gender assessments. Everjoy has a Masters in Gender and policy studies. Everjoy is also very active at regional level. She is a member of the ESARO GBV AOR, and a member of the GBV Preparedness technical working group. Everjoy is also certified trainer of trainers of the Gender in Humanitarian Action.
