Alexandra Robinson

Global Gender-based Violence Technical Advisor, UNFPA

Alexandra Robinson is the Technical Advisor on gender-based violence for UNFPA based in Headquarters, New York. She brings her experience working in country and regional settings in humanitarian, peacebuilding and development programmes to support the 153 countries in which UNFPA are actively working to end gender-based violence. More recently, she has led the technical work across UNFPA to integrate technology-facilitated gender-based violence into programmes and policies to protect women, girls and marginalise populations in all spaces. Prior to working with UNFPA, Alexandra worked with UNICEF in Ethiopia and Darfur as well as with UNOCHA in Sri Lanka as child protection and protection specialists respectively. She is an Australian trained lawyer and has worked extensively across Australia and the UK in criminal, family and climate law. She possesses double degrees in Law and Social Sciences from the Queensland University of Technology and the University of Queensland. She has also completed a Masters of Law (International Law) from the Australian National University.
