KnowledgePoint live: Beta testing

While much of our focus is currently on supporting pilots of the KnowledgePoint system, in parallel we are opening up our question and answer service.
Running the live site has been fantastic, providing great feedback on improvements we need to make – on top of successfully helping people with enquiries.
Interestingly, the majority of enquiries currently appear to be about prevention rather than cure – which is great, though I had initially anticipated questions would be more along the lines of ‘something is broken’.
Examples of the types of questions received so far include what is good practice, making a choice between alternative approaches, and design improvements to a chosen approach.
On this blog we like to talk about shortcomings as well as successes, so I should say that pretty much every enquiry so far has highlighted a glitch – from issues with certain browsers through to things that seemed intuitive before that clearly are not! There must be no faster way to learn than going live.
So while this live ‘beta’ version of KnowledgePoint is already helping to get valuable information to people, we learn a huge amount about our system every time a question is posted and this will help us to serve more people.
So we would like to invite readers of this blog to post an enquiry, should you have one, or to share KnowledgePoint with friends and colleagues working in the sector.
