Global Prioritisation Exercise

The Global Prioritisation Exercise (GPE) for humanitarian research and innovation (HRI) aims to transform the impact of HRI to improve outcomes for people affected by crises.

What is the GPE?

Humanitarian needs are rising rapidly, and funding is not keeping up. With needs growing, it is more important than ever that investment in HRI are as impactful as possible.

Our research revealed that coordination around HRI priorities remains low. Without coordination funders will continue to support research and innovation that leads to case-by-case solutions instead of tackling the systemic barriers at their roots.

The GPE aims to improve outcomes for people affected by crisis by amplifying the impact of investments in research and innovation and understanding the priorities at all levels. It will provide a detailed overview of the progress and performance of the HRI ecosystem with a clear set of priorities for research and innovation funding and attention.

"Now more than ever, we must work together to ensure people affected by crises receive humanitarian response that is supported by coordinated investments into evidence." – Jess Camburn, former CEO of Elrha
