What we’re looking for

The consultant will analyse a range of R2HC-funded publications to deliver insights across three key areas:

  • Publications Breakdown – categorising publications by grant, funding call, and thematic area
  • Citation Analysis – assessing academic citations to identify trends across individual publications, grants, and thematic areas
  • Authorship Analysis – examining the geographical distribution of authorship to explore research collaboration and equity

We welcome proposals that outline the most appropriate tools and databases for this analysis. Suggested resources include Google Scholar, Web of Science, Scopus, and Dimensions — but we are open to your recommendations.

While these core objectives form the basis of the work, we’re also open to broader or more innovative approaches to assessing research impact. For example, consultants may wish to explore non-academic citation tracking — such as references in policy documents or media coverage — as part of their methodology. While this is not a requirement, we welcome such additions if they can be delivered within the agreed timeframe.

If you are well-placed to deliver only part of this analysis, we still encourage you to apply. Please clearly outline which components you propose to cover and how you intend to approach the work.

For full details, including scope and submission requirements, please read the full Terms of Reference.

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
